Seattle Part Un….

Back in early April, I was voluntold to travel to Seattle to attend a meeting with a potential business partner to the company I’m contracted to. They needed someone technical in the discussions as the primary members were business types with little to no technical expertise. Escape from Hungary

My family and I were at a lovely retirement dinner on Thursday, which is a tale for another day, and we were talking about some of the interesting experiences that Melanie and I have had as a result of my travelling for the company. One of the most interesting experiences is what we affectionally call our “Escape from Hungary”. I had had some work scheduled for the Mediterranean in late August of 2015. Yorktown Battlefield

Manassas National Battlefield

Precursor: Some time back, I stumbled across a “final post” on a blog I had never before heard of; Leicaphilia. I don’t consider myself to be a particular Leicaphile, but this final post was quite poignant. The blogger, who was a dedicated Leicaphile, had been fighting stomach cancer for some time. He had just been sent home from his latest visit to the hospital to die. Doctors gave him a week, maybe two to live. So he posted a farewell to all the friends he had made worldwide via his blogging about Leica’s and film photography. Only. he didn’t. This was several months ago and Tim is still with us….

Williamsburg and a Cruise on the Elizabeth River

For my 65th birthday, the two main ladies in my life, Melanie and Meghan, decided we were going to spend the weekend in Williamsburg. As you may, or may not, know Melanie and I are building a house in Williamsburg, so this would be a great opportunity to explore some more and just get to know the area. Labor Day Car Show in Fairfax

One of the pleasantries of living in the small college town of Fairfax, Virginia are the myriad of social events put on either by the city or GMU throughout the year. There is always something to see and do and it’s been areal treat being able to participate just by walking, no worries about parking and such.
