Well, dear reader, the futzing is done.
A final tweak to the site to add whitespace between images, and the website set up is complete. I’m vacillating on the design of the front page, but that’s really not going to affect anything. There are a couple of options available, and I’ll probably switch them around a bit before making a final decision.
Additionally, I spent significant time cutting over all the old website content, gleaned from The Wayback Machine, going back as far as 2004 when the brain-damaged ramblings first began. If you’re curious, you can check out; The Very Beginning.
And then finally I had to clean up a mess that a WordPress add-in made in “optimizing” images. While it didn’t seem to affect the images present in landscape, none of the images presented in portrait resolved any longer. The issue was easily diagnosed, and with a plugin called “Better Search and Replace”, some 326 malformed image references were fixed. Thank goodness they all suffered from the same malady.
So henceforth, there will be less discussion of WordPress issues, and more topical conversations.
And what might they be, you ask? LOL, well:
Photography, images to be specific. That’s what this site has been about for a long while. I’m not going to talk about equipment, as most of my gear is over 5 years old, and no one really cares about details of 5-year-old gear, although saying that there seems to be some renewed interest in some of the equipment in the stable due to the recent fascination with all things Fujifilm.
The last photographic posting was The Jamestown Settlement, so next time we will talk about a visit to the Williamsburg Folk Art Museum made the day after the visit to the Jamestown Settlement.
Be well my friends,
